Avant-garde composer David Tudor devised a work titled Rainforest that was composed by sounds electronically derived from the resonant characteristics of certain materials.  Rainforest IV is the ultimate realization of this project.

Tudor’s Archive is here.

This work uses transducers to find the “natural frequencies” materials to generate the sound for the work. I am curious how fractal boundaries cut into different materials would affect the sounds they produce.
